Our Kiwanis club chartered and currently sponsors the Circle K at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
Circle K International is the world’s largest student-led collegiate service organization, with thousands of members on hundreds of campuses on five continents across the globe.
The collegiate branch of the Kiwanis International family, CKI is committed to developing leaders by offering unique service, leadership and fellowship opportunities that not only change the world but change members’ lives.
CKI members leave college with real-life networking and advocating skills AND service leadership.
CKI members are dedicated to childhood development, environmental justice, serving those who are food insecure or lack housing and mental health. We also partner with UNICEF USA to raise awareness about the need of clean drinking water worldwide.
Donations to local organizations that serve and support YOUTH
Our Kiwanis club raises funds for local organizations that needs us the most – from group homes to private schools to at-risk groups to groups that collect personal hygiene products to women and children in emergency situations.

Danielle Bedient, Kiwanis Advisor, with her students at Nativity Prep for their last meeting of the year…
Our Kiwanis club brings in food and treats and recognizes, supports and encourages the kids, through example, so they feel empowered to do great things in their communities. We supported Builders Club service projects, facilitate the Builders Club meetings, provide mentorships. We chartered and previously sponsored the following Kiwanis Builders clubs:
We provide Easter baskets, a hotdog cookout, and carved pumpkins every year to a local group home. The residents and staff are grateful for our continued support.

Our club was involved in advanced education 📚
Mrs. Gail Ader contacted the Kiwanis Club of Rochester with an unusual request. Her late husband was Dr. Robert Ader was a Medical Doctor (Psychiatrist) on the Strong Memorial Hospital staff, as well as a professor at the University Of Rochester Medical School. Mrs. Ader requested that some advanced textbooks be sent to Africa for use by students in a medical school.
Difficult? Yes, but very possible.
The Kiwanian who got the call was Past President Joe Simeone. Two ministers from The Chosen Goodness and Mercy Church – Agatha Eklou and her husband Dieudonne Eklou – will be taking a trip to West Africa, for a religious event before the end of this year. Aware of this, PP Joe took possession of the books and brought them to the church. Mrs. Eklou and PP Joe are long time friends. That made it possible for the books to be brought to a place where they can be properly used and appreciated.
